Jana Kramer Reveals She Will Be Spending Christmas Eve Without Her Kids After 2021 Divorce
Jana Kramer has revealed that her kids will not be with her on Christmas Eve in light of her divorce from her ex-husband Mike Caussin.
The singer and actress shared her Christmas plans on Saturday on her Instagram Stories during a question-and-answer session with her fans. She explained that she won’t be having her six-year-old daughter Jolie and four-year-old son Jace with her until Christmas Day.
“I’m gonna pick up the kids on Christmas Day,” she wrote, adding, “I’m going somewhere because I don’t have the kids for a week.”
According to the Beautiful Lies star, she will be returning from her vacation on December 24. However, she is going to “pretend” like it is a regular day since she will not be spending that day with her kids. Navigating the day with the awareness that it’s Christmas Eve is going to be sad for her, she said.
Jana will not entirely miss out on the Christmas Eve feel. She will only have hers later than the rest of the world as she explains that the noon of Christmas Day will be her Christmas Eve as she will have picked up Jolie and Jace. Only then will she begin the normal Christmas Eve traditions.
“So we’ll put out the cookies for Santa, we’ll leave him a letter and stuff for the reindeer, and Santa, because it’s magic, he’s going to come Christmas night. So the next day I’ll be able to see them run down the stairs, and they’ll see the presents Santa left for them,” she revealed.
Jana and Mike, a former pro football player, began dating in August 2014. Weeks after news of their relationship broke, she announced that they had broken up because he cheated on her. However, she publicly forgave him a short time after that. They then got engaged in December 2014 and got married in May 2015.
After having Jolie in January 2016, they separated seven months later. Jana announced she was pregnant almost two years later in July 2018. She gave birth to Jace that November. She and Mike would put an end to their love story in April 2021 when she filed for divorce, which was finalized about three months later.
Despite Christmas Eve not turning out normally for her, Jana is excited that she and her kids will be having their own customized festivities.
When a follower asked her how her children felt about having to split the holiday between their parents, Jana answered that it was just how she feared. “From the moment I signed the divorce papers, I was dreading this holiday,” she shared. “Cause I knew the first holiday I had them Christmas Eve night and I always knew that this one was going to be the first [I was alone] and it was going to be extremely hard.”
But rather than be sad, the What I Love About Your Love star is choosing to borrow from Santa’s magic and be positive and excited for her children.
