Jojo Siwa And Avery Cyrus Call It Quits After Three Months Together
Three months was enough for JoJo Siwa and her girlfriend, Avery Cyrus, to end their relationship, and she has decided that they’re better off as friends.
Avery, a TikTok creator, confirmed the story through a video shared last Saturday. Jojo was also featured in the clip, where she was presenting a “sorry for breaking up with you present.”
When one of their fans asked for an explanation about the presumed breakup, the 22-year-old Avery confirmed that she and JoJo decided to focus on themselves and be friends.
Avery’s statement read, “We decided that we are better off as friends! We are both young and still just trying to figure out our stuff.”
JoJo and Cyrus first sparked rumors that they were in a relationship when they uploaded a video on TikTok with the two lip-synching to an old voiceover of Keeping Up With The Kardashians‘ Kourtney and Scott Disick, the father of her kids.
Following that, the two made it official on social media in September, when they shared a video of themselves making out at a Chuck E. Cheese.
In one of the vlogs they shared last October, Avery further confirmed when she shared, “We’re girlfriends now. I’m so happy you said yes. I knew you weren’t gonna say no. I was just nervous.”
This was also when JoJo revealed that she was off the market, as she uploaded some photo dumps on Instagram, with one of the images showing a sign, “JoJo Be My GF?” made by Avery.
JoJo shared that she’d be insane if she’d said no to Avery’s proposal and commended her new partner for being the best girlfriend in the world.
The Nebraska native and Dance Moms Alum’s previous relationship before Avery was with Kyle Prew. This was after she came out last year. The two called it quits after more than 18 months of being together.
JoJo stated in one of her interviews last January 2021, “But like, I don’t know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, or straight. I always say gay because it just kind of covers it, or queer because I think the keyword is cool.”
Before JoJo’s breakup with Avery, she also got involved in an ugly public war of words after the controversial statements of Candace Cameron Bure, one of the Full House stars.
According to Jojo, she and Candace have not talked yet, and she thinks they never will. JoJo shared her frustration about the situation, stating, “That’s what’s f***ed up. If you not liking gay marriage, do your thing, girl. You being religious, do your thing, girl. Of course, I would want everybody to do what they want to do. But to purposely exclude someone because of who they love, that’s sh***y.”
Candance also came under fire and received backlash after stating in her Wall Street Journal interview that her upcoming Christian TV network would only feature minimal content with gay couples.
Their differences in opinion are not the only reasons for their beef. It all started when JoJo called Candance the “rudest celebrity” she had met.
