Keanu Reeves Says Girlfriend Alexandra Grant Is The More Creative One

Keanu Reeves might be a Hollywood icon, but when it comes to creativity, he has no problem admitting who the real artist is in his relationship.

“Alexandra, for sure,” Keanu, 60, told PEOPLE when asked whether he or his longtime girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, was the more creative one. The Matrix star gave his answer while promoting his new show Visionaries, alongside his friend and business partner Gard Hollinger.

Keanu and Alexandra, 51, have been linked since 2011 when they worked on the book Ode to Happiness together. Over the years, their relationship has blended love and creativity, with the two launching X Artists Books in 2017. The company, which publishes artist-centered books, describes its work as “portals to imagined worlds” and “treasured companions” — a fitting reflection of their own partnership.

Alexandra, a talented visual artist, has spoken openly about the ways Keanu has influenced her work. In 2023, she recalled someone telling her that her art had become noticeably happier. She attributed that shift to Keanu. “That’s real,” she said. “We’re all human beings. We’re animals. We’re expressing from where we are. I think the work is happier.”

She also had nothing but praise for Keanu, calling him an inspiration. “He’s so creative, he’s so kind. He works so hard,” she said. The admiration goes both ways. A source told PEOPLE in March 2024 that this is “the most fun and positive relationship” Keanu has ever been in. “Everyone just loves her. Keanu is very happy,” the source shared.

Beyond their creative work together, the couple also shares a love of motorcycles. Keanu, who co-founded ARCH Motorcycle with Gard in 2011, recently shared that he and Alexandra have enjoyed riding together. “We have been on a couple of trips together on the motorcycle and we have enjoyed it,” he said.

Keanu’s passion for motorcycles is at the heart of his new show Visionaries, which explores creativity, form, and function through the world of design. “And we bring the audience along to meet these incredible artists, people. And learn about their life journey,” he explained. “Where does creativity happen? What are they doing? And we hope that, hopefully, the show will inspire people.”
