Kim Kardashian Staying Away from Ex-Husband Kanye West
In the past, Kim was always there to step in and provide support to the designer during mental health lows, even if his infamous social media attacks were directed towards her and those she holds close. However, that is not the case anymore.
Sources close to the family have told TMZ that Kim is no longer a part of the equation at all when it comes to Kanye, and that the two have not spoken directly in weeks. A source close to Kanye has said that they wish Kim were there to talk him down, as there is some concern that Kanye may lose a large sum of money due to his recent controversies.
Kim is holding her ground, though. Instead of giving any energy to her ex-husband (who has made attempts to reach out to her), Kim is focusing on her children. During Kanye’s latest social media rampage, Kim can be seen setting out a folding chair to watch her son, Saint’s, soccer game.
Even when Kanye is directing his anger at Kim, she tries not to pay it any mind and focuses on what she does have; and what she can control. Recently, Kanye mentioned in an Instagram post that Kim “doesn’t let him” see their children. This is likely a reference to when Kim did not invite him to their daughter, Chicago’s, birthday party (likely because of his instability).
As far as the birthday party, which was months ago, Kim said it was Kanye’s idea to have two separate parties for their daughter, so she did not feel like it was an obligation, or even necessary, to invite him to the one she was hosting.
Even though Kim has not been speaking on her ex-husband lately, especially publicly, it hasn’t stopped her family from coming to her defense. On the now-deleted Instagram post, sister Khloe can be seen defending Kim. “Ye, I love you,” she commented, “I don’t want to do this on social media but YOU keep bringing it up here. You are the father of my nieces and nephews and I’m trying to be respectful but please stop tearing Kimberly down and using our family when you want to deflect.” Well said.
Last week, Kanye appeared at daughter North West’s basketball game wearing one of his ‘White Lives Matter’ shirts. Witnesses say that not only did Kim refuse to speak to him, or look in his direction, she had her car moved in the parking lot to avoid any potential interaction.
As for their children, Kim has helped to arrange for extra security to be brought to their school, after Kanye expressed anger that she didn’t want her children attending the school he created. The security measures aren’t because of Kanye alone, but because he made the school’s name public, which poses the threat that anyone who saw his post could attack his children.
While it is sad to see Kanye spiral over and over again, it’s good that Kim is taking the high road and being as responsible as possible. Though their divorce was allegedly because they just didn’t have enough in common, many speculate that it’s really because West wouldn’t accept mental help, even from his wife. Nonetheless, Kim will continue to thrive and, well, we can only hope for the best for Kanye.
