Meghan Trainor Shares Sweet Story Of How Brooklyn Beckham Helped Her Find Love
In a chat on This Morning, pop star Meghan Trainor revealed a surprising twist in her love story that even her fans didn’t see coming. The 30-year-old singer, known for her chart-topping hit All About That Bass, shared with Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley how she first met her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, thanks to an unexpected matchmaker — Brooklyn Beckham.
Meghan, who is currently promoting her new album Timeless, admitted to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley that when she first met Brooklyn, she had no idea who he was.
“I didn’t know who he was, I had no idea because I’m lame,” Meghan laughed, recalling her initial encounter with the son of soccer legend David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.
“What?! His mum is a Spice Girl,” Ben chimed in.
The story began with Brooklyn, 25, setting up a blind double date for Meghan and Daryl, now 32, alongside his then-girlfriend, Hollywood actress Chloe Grace Moretz. Meghan was taken aback by all the attention Brooklyn received and only later realized his fame after connecting the dots.
According to her, Brooklyn and Chloe had met at a SoulCycle class in Los Angeles in 2014, and although they went through a brief breakup, they rekindled their romance in 2016. It was during this time that Chloe set Meghan up with Daryl, after Meghan mentioned she was looking to meet a good guy. That double date at a bowling alley sparked a connection that would lead to one of the strongest relationships in Hollywood.
Meghan and Daryl’s love story continued to flourish, with the Spy Kids actor proposing in December 2017. The couple tied the knot a year later and have since welcomed two sons — Riley, now three, and Barry Bruce, who was born in July last year.
“We are like the most in love couple, ever,” Meghan gushed during the interview, reflecting on their journey together.
She fondly shared how her new album Timeless includes a ballad dedicated to her children. “There is a ballad called Timeless, and it’s my love song to my babies,” she said, recalling how her son Riley would ask to sing the song every night after bath-time.
As she prepares for her upcoming tour, Meghan confirmed that her children will be joining her on the road. “Riley will love it because he loves buses. My little Barry is going to learn how to walk while on tour,” she added with pride.
Throughout the interview, Meghan also touched on her experiences writing for big names like J-Lo, Michael Bublé, and John Legend, showing that despite her humble beginnings, she’s now a powerhouse in the music industry.
