Nick Viall Addresses Cheating Rumors And Protects His Mental Health
Nick Viall, the former Bachelor, is addressing recent rumors about his wife Natalie Joy allegedly having an affair after their engagement. The speculation, which began on Reddit in May, was recently reignited by Netflix reality star Harry Jowsey.
On June 25, Harry commented on Instagram, implying that Natalie was unfaithful.
“He can’t keep my d— out of his mouth 😂,” Harry wrote, responding to a fan who mentioned Nick was “getting roasted” by him.
Harry continued, “50-year-old man gossiping about people in their 20’s dating, he should be more focused on his wife cheating on him and repairing that then [sic] worrying about me 😂😂.”
During a recent episode of The LadyGang podcast, Nick, 43, acknowledged the rumors, saying he is aware of “a ton of rumors” about his relationship with Natalie, 25. He admitted, “And I know that I’m unaware of 90% more cause I don’t read it.”
Nick, who married Natalie in April and welcomed their daughter River Rose two months prior, emphasized that he avoids reading news about himself. “I don’t read my own press, I don’t read my comments. “I’m not on Reddit — I actively stay off of it. And I’m just unaware of things that people say,” he explained.
Reflecting on his approach to online criticism, Nick shared, “As much as I say I stay offline, I’m sure I’ve had my moments of weakness.”
He first gained fame on The Bachelorette in 2014 and has since learned to manage the stress of public scrutiny. “I had to get better and better at this. And it’s just amazing, you know, when something happens and you’re just terrified of what people might be saying,” he said.
“And then, like, two days go by and then people move on. You’re just like, if I had just not ever been made aware about this, I would have never known about it, and I wouldn’t have been stressed for two or three days,” he added.
Protecting his mental health and that of his family has become a priority for Nick, who said, “I’m really good at protecting my mental health and the mental health of my family. And, I mean it when I say it, like, I’ve always liked to work. I’ve enjoyed work. Like, the more I build the show, the less famous I want to be. I mean that.”
Nick also discussed how Natalie, who co-hosts The Viall Files podcast with him, has faced criticism. He believes her role on the show has “put a little bit of a target on her back.”
However, he noted that she has “gotten much better” at handling the negativity. Despite this, Viall acknowledged, “You will never be able — you can never have thick enough skin to handle whatever rumors are about you.”
