Olivia Wilde Requests Child Support from Jason Sudeikis as Legal Battle Continues
Olivia Wilde has accused her ex-partner, actor Jason Sudeikis, of ignoring 100% of the costs of their children’s care while they are with her, despite his significantly higher income. The House star has filed a formal request seeking child support from Jason.
The request includes an order regarding child support to help fund the day-to-day needs of eight-year-old Otis and six-year-old Daisy while the details of their custody issues are being settled.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Olivia wrote that Jason is not currently paying child support to her, despite her requests through counsel that they agree upon an interim support amount to avoid further litigation in this matter. While Olivia and Jason have been splitting some expenses for the children, like their school fees, Olivia claims she has been bearing all the costs of their care when they are with her, including their food, childcare, clothing, transportation costs, and extracurricular activities.
“I am asking the Court to make an order regarding child support so that I can adequately provide for our children commensurate with Jason’s standard of living,” she wrote.
Olivia further asked for Jason to take financial responsibility for her attorney’s fees of $500,000, not only because he is a higher earner but also because of his “egregious, unnecessary, and aggressive conduct.” The actress claimed that the vast majority of the fees she has incurred have been due to Jason and his counsel’s conduct.
In addition to her request for child support, Olivia asked that Jason contribute to her attorney and accountant fees and costs due to his significantly superior financial position. While she wrote that she has yet to receive specific financial information from Jason, she stated that her understanding and belief is that he is wealthier than she is and earns a higher income.
According to a report by The Blast, Olivia told the court she made over $40,000 monthly in salary as well as another $60,000 from Wilde Company income and rental property income. She also has $645,187 in bank accounts and over $107,000 in other assets. However, she claimed she has over $107,000 in monthly expenses, including nearly $4,000 on laundry and cleaning, a mortgage of over $58,000, and $6,500 on gas, water, electricity, and other utilities.
Despite their ongoing legal battle, Olivia and Jason appeared comfortable around each other when they jointly attended their son’s soccer game in Los Angeles on Sunday. The exes, whose split was reported in late 2020, both appeared friendly with each other and were seen doting over their daughter Daisy as they watched their son’s game.
Even through the acrimony, Olivia and Jason have both expressed their commitment to co-parenting their children, with Olivia stating that her priority is to ensure that their children are provided for in a manner commensurate with Jason’s standard of living.
