Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry Finalize Divorce Years Of Separation

After years of living separate lives, Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry have officially ended their marriage. Court documents obtained by PEOPLE confirm that their divorce was finalized on December 19, 2024, marking the conclusion of a journey that began with their separation in 2019.
Sara, 49, and Linda, 56, had been legally separated since October 2021, following Sara’s initial filing for legal separation back in December 2019, citing irreconcilable differences. Despite the end of their marriage, the two have maintained an amicable relationship centered around their shared love for their son, Rhodes Emilio, now 9.
The couple reached a custody agreement early on, which remains unchanged in the final divorce settlement. Both parents will share joint legal and physical custody of Rhodes. According to the agreement, they must regularly communicate about Rhodes’ well-being, health, education, and overall care. Day-to-day parenting responsibilities will remain with whichever parent Rhodes is residing with at the time.
In a mutual decision, both Sara and Linda waived their rights to spousal support, showing a shared commitment to handling their separation respectfully and equitably.
Sara, known for her role on The Conners, and Linda, the frontwoman of 4 Non Blondes, began their relationship in 2011. They tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed their son Rhodes in 2015. Sara also shares two older children, Levi Hawk, 20, and Sawyer Jane, 17, from her previous relationship with TV producer Allison Adler.
Despite the emotional challenges of their split, Linda previously spoke about her perspective on the situation. In 2020, she shared, “Everything happens for a reason. All I can do is continue my journey.” Reflecting on their relationship last year, Linda added, “We have a beautiful child together. So that journey’s not ended; it’s evolved into something else.”
