Selena Gomez Gets Real About Love With Benny Blanco: “I Feel Seen. I Feel Respected”
Selena Gomez is glowing with love as she embraces her relationship with Benny Blanco. In a new joint interview with Interview magazine, the couple opened up about their love story, engagement, and the little things that make their bond special.
The Only Murders in the Building star, 32, shared that her relationship with Blanco, 36, makes her feel valued, respected, and truly seen. “I’ve kind of been alone in the world. I was alone for five years before we got together, and I think that really helped me appreciate someone like Ben,” she said.
“He gets so weirded out by me saying this, but genuinely, 10 years ago, I wasn’t in a space in my life where I could have accepted the kind of patience, the kind of unconditional love that he gives me.”
Blanco, on the other hand, kept his relationship advice simple: “Find your best friend and don’t settle. Happy wife, happy life.”
The two first met in 2013 through Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey, but their romance didn’t blossom until 2023. In December 2024, they took their relationship to the next level by announcing their engagement.
Selena even gave Benny a shoutout in November 2024, highlighting his love and sweet gestures. “Not only do you love me unconditionally… You always get me my Taco Bell Mexican pizza,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
The couple is also collaborating musically, revealing on February 13 that they worked on an album together. I Said I Love You First, their first joint project, drops on March 21, with the first single, Scared of Loving You, already streaming.
In true Benny Blanco fashion, he went all out for their first Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple — with cheese! Instead of flowers, he filled a bathtub with queso and left a trail of tortilla chips leading to it. On Instagram, he shared a video of his masterpiece, captioning it, “When your fiancée isn’t much of a flowers girl.”
Selena responded with a simple but sweet, “I love everything about this. 🥰”
