Tattoo Artist Says Tom Holland And Zendaya Got Matching Ink Before Engagement
Tom Holland and Zendaya have taken their love story to new heights with matching tattoos and an engagement that has fans swooning. The beloved couple, both 28, recently got each other’s initials inked during a visit to Boston Tattoo Company on November 27.
Tattoo artist Lily Jarnryd, who crafted the custom designs, shared her excitement about working with the stars. “They were lovely to meet, and it was a lot of fun!” Jarnryd told PEOPLE exclusively.
Zendaya opted for a tiny “T” tattoo under her armpit, while Tom chose a subtle “Z” on his ribcage — both elegant and understated tributes to their bond.
The pair, who first won hearts with their chemistry in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, went public with their romance in 2021. On January 6, PEOPLE confirmed the couple’s engagement, with TMZ reporting that Tom proposed during the holiday season at the home of one of Zendaya’s family members.
Zendaya made a dazzling statement at the 2025 Golden Globes, where she cheekily debuted her engagement ring on the red carpet. The sparkler appeared to be a stunning 5.02-carat East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring from Jessica McCormack, as listed in the jewelry brand’s engagement collection.
“He’s always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special,” an insider told PEOPLE, adding that Tom’s proposal solidifies his long-held affection for Zendaya.
“Tom’s always had this sweet way of letting the world know that Zendaya is his. Now, it’s official — she really is!” the insider said further.
Their engagement drew warm congratulations from fans and colleagues alike. Marisa Tomei, their Spider-Man costar, shared her joy in an Instagram Story featuring the couple.
“Congrats you two, xoxo 😘,” she wrote alongside a photo of them at a past premiere.
Tom and Zendaya have long valued their privacy, choosing to keep much of their relationship out of the public eye. In a candid interview with GQ in November 2021, Tom reflected on the challenges of dating in the spotlight.
In his words: “One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world.”
Zendaya echoed his sentiments, adding, “The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own.”
