Tiffany Haddish Cheers On Ex Common’s Love With Jennifer Hudson
Tiffany Haddish recently shared her upbeat reaction to ex-boyfriend Common’s glowing comments about his “beautiful relationship” with Jennifer Hudson. During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, Common, 52, spoke highly of his relationship without naming Jennifer directly.
“With all due respect to all the women I’ve dated — because it’s all love — but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship,” he said.
Common added, “If I’m going to get married, it’s to her. That’s simple as that.”
This declaration sparked excitement among fans, one of whom commented on The Breakfast Club’s Instagram post, saying, “ell there he said it he wants to marry her he aint neva said that abt no woman b4.”
Tiffany, 44, responded to the fan’s comment with enthusiasm, writing, “EXACTLY! I hope they actually get married.” The Girls Trip star also “liked” the post, showing her support for the couple.
In his interview, Common elaborated on his bond with Jennifer, highlighting their shared backgrounds and values. “I’m just doing my best to keep God first and communicating, taking all the stuff I’ve learned as a human being, the failures I’ve had in relationships from my responsibility — I’m taking from that, learning from that, growing from that. Using all that therapy,” he said.
He described their connection as “different,” noting that the two, who both hail from Chicago, are from the same place spiritually and geographically.
Back in May, Tiffany expressed her well-wishes for Common and Jennifer on the Making Space with Hoda Kotb podcast. “I love Jennifer. I hope they’re having fun,” she stated.
Tiffany and Common met while filming the 2019 movie The Kitchen. Reflecting on their relationship, Tiffany told PEOPLE in April, “The only celebrity I’ve entangled with, it was two years of him chasing me down before I finally was like, ‘Okay, let’s do something.’ That was top of 2020, but we met at the beginning of 2018, 2017.” The couple quietly split in August 2021, with Tiffany later telling The Washington Post, “It wasn’t mutual. It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course.'”
Common and Hudson have since worked together on the movie Breathe and collaborated on his new album, The Auditorium Vol. 1. Common recently told PEOPLE, “I am in a great partnership, and, man, [Jennifer] is somebody I do really care about and do love and am growing with. The potential of a ‘champion lover’ means, ‘Yo, you are the one.’ I am feeling that. It’s a lot of potential there is what I’ll say.”
