“We Don’t Take Life Too Seriously”: Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Gen Z Boyfriend Maxx Morando
Miley Cyrus is all smiles when it comes to her relationship with Maxx Morando. The pop superstar, 32, recently shared insights about her boyfriend, 26, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, revealing how their six-year age gap adds a unique dynamic to their love story.
“He looks at life really differently than I do,” Miley explained, adding, “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters.”
The age difference isn’t just a generational quirk — it also influences how Maxx approaches everyday challenges. “Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit. I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this?’ And he’s like, ‘On Reddit, it says blah, blah, blah,’” Miley joked.
Despite their differences, Miley sees plenty of similarities. “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously,” the Flowers singer shared.
Miley and Maxx, who’s the drummer for the band Liily, have been romantically linked since late 2021. But their connection runs deeper than just romance — they also share a creative bond. Maxx co-wrote and produced Handstand on Miley’s 2023 album, Endless Summer Vacation.
In the interview, Miley explained how she’s always gravitated toward working with people she loves. “I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much,” she shared.
Their partnership extends to her upcoming project, Something Beautiful, a visual album described by Miley as “hypnotizing and glamorous.” She teased the concept behind it, calling it “an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music.”
