Beyoncé is Back With a Brand New Album
After several years without a solo album release, the Queen B is back with a new era, titled Renaissance. The album is set to release July 29, yet there may be more music to come. On Beyoncé’s website, Renaissance is labeled as “act i”, signaling that 2022 could be a wild year for The BeyHive.
The singer teased this announcement earlier in the week by removing all profile photos and banners from her social media. This created a blank slate that caused fans to speculate a new era of music arriving soon.
In order to create an exciting and mysterious announcement, Beyoncé worked with British Vogue to capture the energy behind her new era. From the images posted to her Instagram, one might assume that Beyoncé is going for an edgier futuristic vibe with Renaissance. Each photo includes an array of deep reds and blues, while Beyoncé wears a collection of sequins, leather, and metallic-themed clothing.
With 16 tracks, Beyoncé is giving fans a generous serving of new music after many years without any solo albums. She has dabbled in collaborations over the past few years, appearing on several tracks for The Lion King. She had also previously released a live album of her Coachella performance titled Homecoming: The Live Album, as well as a film documenting the journey behind her performance.
Ryan Tedder, known for co-writing Beyoncé’s 2008 hit “Halo” and writing for many popular artists, will be contributing for this album as well. Raphael Saadiq is also said to be involved in the creative process of the album. He’s known for his work with John Legend, Mary J. Blige, and Stevie Wonder. With two incredible writers working with Beyoncé, only the best can be expected.
On her website, there are four box sets for the album for sale, labeled Pose 1, 2, 3, and 4. Pose 1 and 4 have already been sold out. Each box will include a CD, mini poster, and T-shirt, although the designs have not yet been released. The box collections will then be shipped out the day of the album release.
Although many fans expected her to release another powerful song on Juneteenth, the artist did not. This could mean that her new music may focus on other topics close to her heart.
To keep the anticipation building, Beyoncé has announced a new single, “Break My Soul”, releasing tonight at midnight ET.
