Cardi B Teases Plans For Third Album
Cardi B has her sights set on her third album, and fans are buzzing with excitement. On June 24, the 31-year-old Grammy-winning rapper shared that she already has a vision for this upcoming project, which might just surprise everyone.
In an Instagram Story posted on June 23, she sang along to her collaboration with Peso Pluma, Put Em in the Fridge, and posed an intriguing question to her followers: Would they want a Spanish language album from her?
The response was overwhelming. Out of nearly 480,000 votes, a whopping 79% — over 380,120 people — voted in favor of the idea.
The next day, Cardi reposted the poll results on her Stories, writing, “OK AFTER MY ENGLISH ALBUM.”
This hint at a future Spanish album has fans eagerly anticipating what’s next from the rap queen.
While Cardi’s third album plans spark interest, her fans have been eagerly awaiting her sophomore album, the follow-up to her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy, which won her a Grammy. Despite dropping several chart-topping singles and collaborations, Cardi has been tight-lipped about the details of her second album.
Back in May, she shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that her sophomore album wouldn’t be dropping in 2024 as previously mentioned. “Anyway, NO album this year. I don’t care. I’m relaxing this year… Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer,” she wrote.
Earlier, in March, the I Like It hitmaker revealed in an Instagram Story that she has “100” unreleased songs for her second album. She assured fans, “I promise y’all this year, I’m not letting my anxiety, I’m not letting what haters say, I’m not letting what fans say [stop me]. If I do a song, I’m gonna just f—ing drop it.”
She seemed determined, adding, “Well, I’ve got no choice because I’m dropping my album this year.”
Despite her plans shifting, Cardi hasn’t left her fans without new music. In early March, she released a solo single titled Like What (Freestyle), followed by Enough (Miami)” on March 15. These releases came after her declaration in her September 2023 cover story for Vogue México y Latinoamérica that she would not release any more collaborations, focusing only on solo singles.
