Country Singer Lauren Alaina Announces Pregnancy In Music Video
Lauren Alaina, known for her rise to fame as the runner-up on American Idol Season 10, has shared joyful news: she and her husband, Cam Arnold, are expecting their first child! The 30-year-old country singer revealed the development in her new music video for Those Kind of Women, dedicating it to her “sweet baby Arnold coming summer 2025.”
Reflecting on her pregnancy, Lauren shared her excitement with People: “[I didn’t know] I can love something that I haven’t even really held yet. I feel the baby inside me, and it’s kicking me and doing all of the things.”
Lauren credits the experience with bringing her and Cam closer together. “’My love for him grew that day of getting married, and then finding out we were having a baby together. Walking through this experience with him has been unbelievable. I’m looking forward to watching my husband be a dad,” she stated.
Cam’s nurturing personality was one of the reasons Lauren fell for him. “He is so obsessed with our animals; he’s a big nurturer in general,” she shared. “In fact, when I was getting ready to marry him, that was something that I knew would be one of the best things about being his wife, was being able to parent with him.”
The couple had originally planned to start trying for a baby in late 2025, so the pregnancy came as a surprise. Lauren admitted, “Now I’m scared because I don’t feel like I passed any sort of test. They don’t make you take a test on being a mom. It’s crazy. People are like, ‘What’s your plan with the birth? And what’s your plan here?’ And I’m like, listen, ‘God’s plan. It wasn’t my plan.’”
Lauren’s father passed away in July, and she believes the timing of this pregnancy is no coincidence. “’I do think that my dad passed away and got a stair up in heaven and was like, ‘Hey, we got to work something out down there to send the family something good.’ And it has been such an unexpected blessing. We obviously still talk about and are dealing with the grief of my dad, but this baby has healed a lot of that for us … like it’s a little piece of my dad that will live on.”
While the couple hasn’t revealed the baby’s name or gender, Lauren confirmed that the name is inspired by a family member. Fortunately, she hasn’t experienced much sickness during her pregnancy — just an exhaustion “I didn’t know existed.”
Fans have been pouring out their love on social media, with comments like, “This is beautiful. What a great mother she will be” and “What a good way to announce her pregnancy by doing this music video with this really amazing song she just put out! Congratulations Lauren, you’re gonna be a fantastic mom!”
Lauren and Cam tied the knot last year in a grand ceremony at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. Although Lauren wanted a small wedding and Cam dreamed of a large one, they compromised with a 450-person guest list.
The pair kept their early relationship private, only going public when Cam proposed during Lauren’s performance at the Grand Ole Opry in November 2022.
