Dua Lipa Breaks Silence On Grammy Snub, Opens Up On Why She’s Grateful Regardless
Dua Lipa is embracing her journey with Radical Optimism, even if the Grammy Awards didn’t come knocking this year. In an interview with Billboard U.K. on Dec. 16, the 29-year-old pop star opened up about her reaction to not receiving a Grammy nomination for her 2024 album, despite her impressive history with the awards.
“I’m so proud of Radical Optimism and where it’s brought me. I love that album and I’m having the time of my life performing it live, and I’ve been able to do things that I thought I could only dream of this year, so I’m really grateful,” Dua shared.
However, the Houdini singer admits it would’ve been nice to be recognized, saying, “Although it would have been nice to be recognized by your industry, especially as a woman, I’m so proud seeing so many incredible female artists nominated at the Grammys this year.”
Dua has previously earned 10 Grammy nominations and took home the award for Best New Artist in 2019. Still, the Grammy snub hasn’t dampened her passion for her craft. She credits her 2020 album, Future Nostalgia, for helping her grow creatively and giving her the courage to push boundaries with Radical Optimism.
According to the singer, the album “gave me the freedom and confidence to be like, ‘You know who I really want to make an album with?”
“Kevin Parker [Tame Impala]. And I want to do something a bit different; I want to work with Danny L Harle and experiment with my sound, do a different vocal performance and make pop music but allow that to live in another sonic world,” she added.
Fans will soon see Dua’s artistic evolution live, as she gears up for her Radical Optimism Tour 2025. Spanning over 40 shows across Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, and the U.K., the tour kicks off in September 2025.
“RADICAL OPTIMISM TOUR 2025!! THEY SAID THEY ‘MISS 2022 DUA,’” Dua teased on social media, referencing her smash-hit Future Nostalgia Tour. “WELL, I’LL BE HAULING ASS FOR THE FORESEEABLE AND I CAN’T WAIT TO BRING THIS SHOW TO YOU,” she added.
The North American leg of the tour begins at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Sept. 1, 2025, with stops in major cities like Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, New York City, and Miami. The journey ends on October 16, 2025, at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena.
