Madonna’s Secret: A Greatest Hits Tour To Her 40 Years In The Music Industry
Madonna has become one of the pillars of the music industry, and there’s no better way to celebrate her four decades in entertainment than with a memorable music tour.
And it appears that the music icon thought of this ahead of everyone because she is allegedly planning her first-ever Greatest Hits tour. And, impressively, she already has multiple shows booked at the O2 Arena in London.
The 64-year-old singer is soon to provide an official announcement on the dates for her massive music shows. This is 40 years after her first album was released in 1983.
Although Madonna has performed hundreds of shows globally, this upcoming tour is a first for her because it will be a compilation show where she will perform a litany of her hits from different years. She will be singing her greatest hits that helped build her illustrious career.
One source mentioned that “Madonna is trying something completely new — and giving young and old fans what they want.”
Madonna is said to be capitalizing on some of her well-loved tracks like Material Girl and Frozen and introducing her old music catalog to the new generation. This will be Madonna uniting the older generation with the younger ones with her songs.
The same source mentioned that Madonna has always been focused on being forward-facing and giving her all when it comes to promoting an album, but now that she’s in her mid-sixties, she feels like going back to the basics and reinventing herself.
The American songwriter-singer is said to be staging a no-holds-barred show, so the probability of the performance being risky is huge. Given the star’s raunchy content and photos on social media lately, she will likely put her all into these shows.
Madonna’s last tour was in a smaller venue, but for this upcoming Greatest Hits tour, the shows will be hosted in massive stadiums. These performances will all be part of Madonna’s musical history.
Last year, the Frozen singer gave subtle hints that might have led to this coming musical tour. Recall that she mentioned that she was ready to be on time again, given that the stage is her happy place and that she’s a confessed creature of the stage.
And this is not the first time Madonna will perform at London’s 02 Arena because she took this stage in 2015 during her Rebel Heart tour.
Madonna is no stranger to performing in different venues, given that for her Madame X tour, she set the stage on fire in 75 theater venues. However, she did need to cancel some shows because of recurring knee and hip injuries.
And you can expect a Madonna concert to be full of energy, and, more often than not, controversies.
Recall that in 1990, calls from the Catholic Church led by Pope John Paul II to boycott Madonna’s Blonde Ambition tour were in full blast after the singer simulated a sexual act on stage. During this tour, Madonna also wore the now-iconic Jean Paul Gaultier bra in Japan.
In 2006, Madonna also angered the Church of England when part of her performance was a staged crucifixion. This was during her Confessions tour held in Los Angeles.
