Bridgerton Star Jonathan Bailey Cast in New Period Drama
Since Bridgerton season 2 has been released, fans have been anxiously anticipating the release date for season 3. Period piece superfans can’t get enough of a class period drama full of slow burn romances, and they are about to receive another one.
Jonathan Bailey, who plays the viscount in Bridgerton, was a fan favorite for his passionate performance that left viewers in adoration. Since Bailey seems to fit in with the fashion and overall aesthetic of the early 1800s, it only makes sense that he has been cast in another period drama.
The series is titled Fellow Travelers, and focuses on two men who have a secret love affair across four decades as the pair cross paths. The story begins in the 1950s, and carries on throughout the 1980s.
In context, this means that issues like the Vietnam war and the AIDs crisis will be in full effect during the series. The show is set to be both a love story and a political thriller. Religion and politics will be major talking points in this show, as well as romance and plenty of drama.
Jonathan Bailey has been in many shows, including Broadchurch and Crashing, and has also starred in many films. Bailey tends to stick to the drama genre when joining a show or movie. He has a lot of acting experience under his belt at the age of 34, and we can only hope he continues to pursue more of these types of projects.
Matt Bomer, known for his acting in The Sinner, will be starring as Jonathan’s secret lover throughout the series. The handsome actors are sure to make fans swoon as they get to witness a compelling romance build on-screen.
Ron Nyswaner is the creator of this show, and his directing will lead to filming a show that has yet to announce a release date.
