Christine Quinn Will No Longer Be Starring in Selling Sunset
It’s official — Christine Quinn is calling it quits after five seasons on the hit TV series Selling Sunset. The reality TV show revolves around the lives of elite real estate brokers from the Oppenheim Group who sell luxurious homes to affluent buyers.
Fans of the show will definitely feel the absence of Quinn, who was an important personality in the last five seasons and the one who brought the most drama to the table. But what led Quinn to leave?
Insider sources share that leaving was a mutual decision made by Quinn and the producers of the show who are currently working on seasons six and seven. Her choice to leave at a time when she wasn’t involved with other cast members “made sense.”
It appears that part of her decision was influenced by a desire to focus on the real estate business she shares with her husband. According to Quinn, “I started my own brokerage a year and a half ago. My husband and I started RealOpen.com, so it’s a platform to facilitate home sales through cryptocurrency, and the seller will receive a cash transaction, so it’s like a wire.”
On the flip side, some speculate that Quinn’s leaving may be due to strained relationships with fellow cast members. Not too long ago, she was confronted by co-star Emma Hernen during the season five finale for her “unethical professional behavior.”
During season five’s reunion episode, her sudden absence was glaringly obvious. Quinn later excused herself by citing that she had contracted COVID-19. While that’s certainly a valid and understandable reason, she was spotted two days after shooting a public campaign advisory with Melissa Gorga, a star of another reality show, The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Claims that she faked being sick just to avoid going to the reunion came not only from tabloids but also from her former co-stars. Chrishell Stause threw some shade by posting a meme on Twitter that read “The lie detector test determined that was a lie.”
As can be expected, this development only fueled rumors that the Selling Sunset star could not get along with her castmates. It didn’t help when Amanza Smith, who also appears on the show and was also recovering from COVID at the time, made an appearance on Zoom since she couldn’t make it in person.
While controversial, Quinn stuck to her guns and insisted that she “absolutely did have Covid” on Watch What Happens Live.
She goes on to say that her no-show doesn’t warrant an apology: “I’m too busy. You think I have time for more apologies? Like, no. Everything that I do is so intentional, and if there is something to where I’m like, ‘You know what? Maybe I did hurt someone’s feelings,’ sure. I’ll apologize if I actually mean it, but not too often.”
Hopefully, Quinn’s decision to leave is best for everyone involved. After announcing her decision, her profile was removed from the real estate company’s website.
Regardless of her reasons for leaving, it looks like Quinn isn’t about to tiptoe off with her tail between her legs. She was heard issuing a challenge between her former employer, The Oppenheim Group, and the company she shares with her husband, RealOpen.com. The challenge was to have a showdown between the two companies on the Selling Sunset show.
