Everything We Know About the Upcoming Season 3 of Bridgerton
As filming for season 3 of Bridgerton is underway, more and more sneak peeks and hints have been appearing about what is to come in the upcoming season.
The Netflix show has followed the book series it is based off of, written by Julia Quinn, very closely up until this season. It was recently announced that the show would no longer be following the order of the books by choosing Penelope to be the showcase of this season, when she was not due for a lead role until the fourth book/season.
In the show, viewers were left with Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma finding love with each other and sharing their happy ending together with the Bridgerton family. Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton had become closer during the second season, but still remained friends despite Penelope wishing that they were more.
In season 3, Penelope has grown tired wishing for more than just a platonic relationship with Colin. She begins to give him the cold shoulder as she tries to move on in time for the next marriage season. Colin notices her lack of attention and offers to mentor her and help her find a husband. He soon begins to regret that decision when he witnesses how well it is working.
The season will focus on Penelope balancing Lady Whistledown, the search for a husband, and her confusing relationship with one of her closest friends. There are plenty of other opportunities for plot, since the ending of season 2 left viewers with many questions.
For example, will Eloise and Penelope become friends again? Will Edwina Sharma find a husband, since she didn’t get a fair opportunity to do so in the last season? There are many questions, and fans can only hope to receive some answers when the upcoming season is released. A release date has yet to be announced.
