Kit Harington Doubts His Kids Will Ever Watch “Game of Thrones”
Kit Harington, known for his iconic role as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, doesn’t believe his kids will ever watch their dad battle for the Iron Throne. The 37-year-old actor, who met his wife Rose Leslie on the set, shared his thoughts at the August 6 premiere of his new show, Industry.
“I don’t think they’ll wanna watch Game of Thrones,” Kit told E! News, adding, “I absolutely guarantee you they’ll probably never wanna see that show.”
He went further to say that the idea of their kids viewing their real-life love story on screen would make them “deeply uncomfortable.”
Kit and Rose, who have a 12-month-old daughter and a 3-year-old son, foresee their children feeling a type of embarrassed sadness about their dad’s acting career. “I don’t think they’re gonna wanna watch anything I’m in. I really don’t. I think it’s gonna be one of those sadnesses that I’ll be like, ‘Hey, look at this thing I was in 20 years ago.’ And they’ll be like, ‘Dad, no,’” he stated.
The couple welcomed their daughter in July 2023, with a rep for Kit confirming the news to PEOPLE, saying they were “delighted to have welcomed a little girl into the family.” Their daughter joined her older brother, who was born in February 2021.
Rose, also 37, has fond memories of working with Kit on Game of Thrones. Despite their on-screen chemistry, she revealed to PEOPLE in June 2014 that they knew each other before becoming castmates.
“Kit is a lovely and funny man, and a dear friend. We had known each other before we started working together on Game of Thrones. It was always such a privilege to be working opposite him and such a blessing that we get on in real life because it made our characters more believable,” she shared.
