Taylor Swift Praises Friends’ New Projects But Stays Silent On Blake Lively’s Latest Film
Taylor Swift has been busy showing love for her friends’ latest ventures, but her recent silence on Blake Lively’s new movie It Ends With Us has left fans curious. The 34-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Friday to rave about the directorial debut of Zoe Kravitz and the new album from Sabrina Carpenter, but notably did not mention Blake’s film, which features her song My Tears Ricochet.
Taylor, fresh off the European leg of her Eras Tour, was full of praise for Zoe’s psychological thriller Blink Twice, calling it “thrilling, twisted, wickedly funny, and visually stunning.” She lauded Zoe for her vision and dedication, saying she was “blown away” by what her friend had accomplished.
Taylor also shared a trigger warning for the film, cautioning viewers about its mature themes and depictions of violence.
In the same breath, the Blank Space singer also celebrated Sabrina’s sixth album, Short ‘n Sweet, urging her fans to support the former Disney Channel star. Alongside a photo of the two of them at a Kansas City Chiefs game, she wrote, “Short. Sweet. Has made an extraordinary album. Go support our girl!!”
This comes after Taylor had recently promoted Post Malone’s new album F-1 Trillion, calling him “the most down to earth guy alive” and praising his versatility. She also showed love for Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine, highlighting the hard work and dedication that went into the project.
However, Taylor’s fans couldn’t help but notice the absence of any mention of It Ends With Us, a film directed by her close friend Blake Lively. The silence has sparked speculation among Swifties, with some wondering if there’s more behind the scenes. One fan on Reddit speculated that Blake might have asked Taylor not to promote the film to avoid further controversy.
Another pointed out that Taylor was careful to include a trigger warning when promoting Zoe’s film, indicating that her team is aware of the sensitive topics involved.
Taylor and Blake have shared a close friendship for nearly a decade. Blake and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, even chose the Delicate singer to be the godmother of their children.
Taylor has often included nods to their friendship in her work, such as naming characters in her song Betty after Blake’s children. The two have also collaborated professionally, with Blake directing the music video for the song I Bet You Think About Me in 2022.
Despite the speculation, the bond between Blake and Taylor appears to remain strong. But for now, Taylor’s choice to stay quiet about It Ends With Us has only added to the intrigue surrounding the project and her friend’s involvement in it.
