Taylor Swift Takes on the Film World Once Again in Amsterdam
Taylor Swift is shown to be one of the actors in the film Amsterdam. From the trailer, it seems as though this movie will be a crime drama that takes the audience through many twists and turns throughout the plot. Taylor Swift’s name is on the movie posters and she is on the cast list, although we are not sure how big her role will be.
Amsterdam is set in the 1930s. The film follows a close trio of friends who end up witnessing a murder, which leads to them winding up as prime suspects. In order to clear their own names, they must work to solve the murder themselves, which only brings more questions than answers.
The cast is full of amazing experienced actors and actresses. Margot Robbie, known for her version of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, stars as one of the main protagonists. Acting alongside Robbie as the other two in the trio will be Christian Bale and John David Washington. Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert De Niro, Rami Malek, Chris Rock, and Timothy Olyphant will fill in the supporting roles.
With so many experienced actors, you may think that Taylor Swift is outskilled. But this is not Swift’s first film. In fact, she has starred in several movies, with her first role being in 2010, when she acted in Valentine’s Day. In 2012, she was a voice actor for The Lorax, and then she went back to live-action film in 2014 with The Giver.
Taylor Swift also had a major role in the 2019 film Cats, where she wrote the song “Beautiful Ghosts” for the movie as well. Swift has also made guest appearances on CSI and New Girl.
David O. Russell will be directing Amsterdam. With five Oscar nominations, and movies like Silver Linings Playbook and Joy under his belt, we can predict that this will be a drama worth watching.
Amsterdam is set to hit the theaters on November 4, 2022.
