Josh Duggar Fired From Job at Prison
Josh Duggar, convicted sex offender and former star of the TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting, got a job in prison and has been fired in a matter of weeks for his poor attitude.
On May 25 of this year, the ex-reality personality was sentenced to 151 months in prison due to his conviction of child pornography, for which he was found guilty of last December. He won’t even be considered for parole for at least another ten years.
At the Seagoville Federal Correctional Institution, where Duggar (age 34) has been staying, and will continue to stay for the foreseeable future, he got himself a job. But, he lost it even faster. Duggar worked in the education department at the prison in Texas, and got fired after two weeks, seemingly for his conceited behavior.
“Josh seems to piss many people off as he thinks he knows it all. I am not sure exactly why he got fired, but I am sure it had to do with his arrogant attitude and clashing with other inmates,” said one inmate close to Josh.
His wage was 23 cents per hour, which isn’t much to the outside world, but in terms of prison jobs, he was getting paid decently. Apparently, it wasn’t enough for Duggar. Hopefully he can find a job that’s more to his standards, or one that he can get used to, because he’s going to have to get used to it one way or another.
Though he’s been behind bars for months, Duggar’s lawyers are alleging that a family friend put the explicit material of children on his computer. He insists that he was framed, and did not do anything wrong. The friend, Caleb Williams, was once a lover of Duggar’s oldest sister, Jana. Williams did respond to this claim.
Thing is, Caleb Williams is also a convicted sex offender, so Duggar may have thought he could use him as a scapegoat. He said that he’s not planning to sue the family for defamation, but also said that “in my opinion, this is a big PR stunt and he wants his freedom, I get it.” He continued to say that he did not know Duggar was still partaking in this sort of behavior.
“Moving beyond the past to work for a positive future is my goal,” continued Williams, “I really just hope that he gets some help and by the time he gets out and moves on with his life, he becomes a productive citizen.”
On Caleb’s website, he wrote: “I’m sad that the Duggars, a family I assumed were my friends, are trying to accuse me of such horrific crimes… Time will tell what happens to Josh, but his actions up to this point since his case started do not suggest a pattern of positive change. All I have seen is excuses, and blaming. My heart goes out to every victim involved and his family.”
