Keanu Reeves Says He Is Fine With The “Internet Boyfriend” Status As He Talks About John Wick: Chapter 4
Keanu Reeves is aware of the internet’s obsession with him, and he is fine with it. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of John Wick: Chapter 4, the 58-year-old actor said that he appreciates how he is loved.
In his words, “I really appreciate the goodwill.”
The Constantine actor revealed that he is working on another movie in the action-hero franchise. In this movie, he will be embodying the hitman character that fans have come to love.
As for the latest work out of the John Wick series, he says the movie is intense. But with the challenges comes some fun. “I love the challenges of John Wick, it’s super intense. It’s playful. I get to do different things — driving, you know? [I get to use] nunchucks and do movie Judo, movie jujitsu. So I really enjoy that,” he said.
The soon-to-be-released movie, he says, has him undertaking adrenaline-pumping challenges. “I enjoy the challenges and the intensity and the noise. So I’m not looking to hang out on the beach,” he stated.
Recently, Keanu has described the fourth chapter of the action thriller film as the most tasking role he has worked. “John Wick: Chapter 4 was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far. They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox,” he said in an interview with Total Film.
According to the Matrix star, the stunt driving he did on set to get action scenes set for the movie were intense, as the series will be introducing car-fu in its next release. “We took the car-driving to the next level, which I really enjoy,” he stated.
Going further into the details, he explained, “There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse-into-forward 270s, drifting. … So it was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play.”
Having given a hint at the work put in during filming, Keanu tells fans to expect “next-level action” in John Wick: Chapter 4.
“John Wick: Chapter 4 has the most action of any of the [John Wick] films, which is saying a lot. And it’s more by a good margin. It’s a big show,” he stated.
“John Wick: Chapter 4 is our opus. Oh my god, it’s crazy, man! It’s banana cakes!” he added.
