Sophie Turner Proves She Planned on Living in the UK With Husband Joe Jonas
The bitter divorce between actress Sophie Turner and singer Joe Jonas is getting nastier. Wife Sophie seems determined to avoid public bashing as the Game of Thrones alum presented irrefutable proof that she and Joe had plans to move to England as a family.
The new court documents filed last week by the 27-year-old actress shared the actual letter that Joe wrote. It showed that they were trying to persuade the owner of a $9.1 million estate in Wallingford, Oxford, to sell the estate to them.
Joe allegedly penned the letter to the homeowner, writing, “When my wife and I decided we were going to spend more time in the UK and search for a permanent home, our daughter expressed three unwavering requirements: having chickens, a pony, and a Wendy house.”
The 34-year-old continued, “While many of the houses we viewed met this criteria, the moment we turned the corner and caught sight of the charming blue shutters adorning, we experienced a sense of magic, unlike anything we had felt before.”
Based on a report by Page Six, Joe shared that he envisions himself having picnics in the estate with his girls, 3-year-old Willa and 14-month-old Delphine. Based on the document, the musician was charmed at the idea of dropping his children off at school, going on afternoon leisure cruises on his boat, and visiting the pub with friends.
He commended the homeowner for his beautiful home and said that the layout of each room greatly inspired Joe. He also praised the overall vibe of the property.
The father-of-two continued to rave about the musicality in the house and his plans of converting one of its vast rooms into a recording studio. Joe also mentioned that he wanted to keep the house’s design the same.
He added that Andrew Turner, his father-in-law who is a keen gardener, was also impressed by the estate’s vegetable garden. Joe included in the letter that he imagined spending his life in England with his wife. As a couple, they consider the UK as the place where their kids would grow up and the estate would be their forever home.
Joe finished the letter by writing, “that his family would spend ‘many years’ paying ‘homage to the magic’ that the previous owner created.”
The heartfelt message was well received by the seller and their offer was accepted. A 10% deposit amounting to $914,130 was made last July just two months before the couple’s marital woes became public.
At the time, Joe reportedly sent a message to one of Sophie’s sisters-in-law sharing the good news that they officially own a home in the UK. Based on the submitted court documents, the sale of the Oxford property was set to be finalized this coming December 2.
While the legal proceedings are underway, Sophie is reportedly staying in Taylor Swift’s Tribeca townhouse with their two daughters.
Now that the two are separating, it remains to be seen what will happen to the home that Joe had so badly wanted.
