Will Smith Says He’s ‘Happier Than Ever’ In Relationship With Jada
In a heartwarming display of unity and love, Will Smith took to the stage alongside his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, in her hometown of Baltimore. The occasion was a talk centered around Jada’s new memoir, Worthy, held at the Enoch Pratt Free Library. This event marked Will’s first public statement about their relationship since the release of Jada’s revealing book.
Will Smith, the celebrated actor at the age of 55, shared his thoughts about their enduring love story, describing it as both “brutal and beautiful” and a “sloppy public experiment in unconditional love.”
The conversation, moderated by CNN’s Laura Coates, took an unexpected turn when members of Jada’s family joined her onstage. Will, along with their children Willow, 22, and Jaden, 25, as well as Trey, 30, from Will’s previous marriage to Sheree Zampino, made a delightful appearance. Jada humorously declared, “I guess the talk’s over” as the family gathered.
Will expressed his heartfelt appreciation, saying, “I just really wanted to come out and just be here and hold it down for you the way you have held it down for me.”
As his three children looked on, he spoke about the long and tumultuous journey of their relationship, which he affectionately termed “brutiful.”
“We got together when we were in our 20s. I had huge dreams of what I wanted to do in the world and in my life, and I was on fire with a vision. And as I stand here before you today, I am happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life,” he said to the audience.
The Gemini Man actor continued by saying, “There is not one thing left that I desire in this world — all of the awards, all of the money, the family — everything I’ve ever dreamed.” He acknowledged that many of these dreams were made possible by Jada’s sacrifices, as she had put her career on hold to support his aspirations.
Will also commended Jada for building a strong relationship with his ex-wife, Sheree Zampino, which allowed all three of his children to spend quality time together as one united family.
The emotional highlight of the evening was when Will made a heartfelt promise to his wife: “Jada is the best friend I have ever had on this planet, and I am going to show up for her and support her for the rest of my life.”
Will revealed that he had been out of touch with the outside world while in Papua New Guinea, only becoming aware of the recent speculations surrounding their relationship when he arrived in Sydney.
Earlier in the evening, during her conversation with Laura Coates, Jada reassured everyone that she and Will were doing well. She affirmed, “Will and me are good,” adding, “The truth of the matter is I’m not leaving Will’s side, and he’s not going to leave mine. We’ve been on a powerful quest, and I’m happier than I’ve ever been.”
