Actor Jamie Foxx Recovering After Suffering Medical Emergency
Actor Jamie Foxx, 55, was rushed to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency on Tuesday. While details about his condition have not been released, his daughter Corinne Foxx revealed the news in a statement posted to her Instagram account.
The statement from the family indicated that Jamie suffered a “medical complication” that required him to be hospitalized. “We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday [Tuesday],” it read.
The family also said that the actor was on his way to recovery as they wrote, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.” However, they did not provide any specifics about his condition.

TMZ reported that Jamie’s condition was serious enough to be considered a “medical emergency,” but a source close to the actor stated that he is now communicating again. Representatives for Jamie have yet to release a statement or comment on the situation. Hence, the exact nature or symptoms of the comedian’s sickness is not known. Nothing has also been said about the expected date of release from the hospital or resumption to work.
Jamie was in Atlanta filming the action-comedy Back In Action with Cameron Diaz when the medical emergency occurred. Cameron is reportedly planning to retire after the film’s production due to the various issues that have arisen during filming. Back In Action also stars Glenn Close.
Last month, Jamie was reported to have had an “absolute meltdown” while filming in the UK. The incident led to the firing of several people, including an executive producer, two directors, and even the Spider-Man: No Way Home star’s own driver. One staff member was fired for reportedly attempting to scam Jamie out of £33,000 related to the sale of a Rolex watch. Production was also paused when an unexploded WWII-era bomb was discovered on set.
Despite the stressful ordeal, Foxx was seen on set as recently as Monday coaching a women’s soccer team. The plot and characters of Back In Action have not been released, but it is described as Cameron’s return to acting after a string of film set catastrophes.
