Dame Vivienne Westwood, One Of The Greatest Fashion Designers, Dead Age 81
Vivienne Westwood, 81, passed away peacefully on 29 December 2022. Her family in South London surrounded her during the last moments of her life.
Andreas Kronthaler, Vivienne’s creative partner and husband, said that he would continue with his wife in his heart. He also shared that they’d been working together until the very end and thanked his wife for giving him “plenty of things to get on with“.
Vivienne was one of the pioneering fashion designers of her time. She made a name for herself in the 1970s with her slogan t-shirts, genderless designs, and bold approach toward different establishments. Vivienne made a strong name for herself in the fashion industry. Her name was synonymous with punk rock—an outspoken and rebellious form of fashion, with no excuses or explanations needed.
Vivienne became the designer and face of punk rock and a new wave. She soon became one of the UK’s most significant and notable fashion designers.
Tributes came pouring in after news of the demise of the fashion designer. Many heartbroken fans used social media to express their sadness.
A post on Vivienne’s own Twitter account stated, “The world needs people like Vivienne to make a change for the better.”
Jonathan Ross, a TV presenter, led the people in paying tribute to the late Dame Vivienne through Twitter. He called her “the great Vivienne” and described her as unique, brilliant, and uncompromising. He ended his tweet by thanking her.

Vivienne made a name for herself in the fashion world and had a solid and active voice when it came to showing her support for different political and social initiatives.
