A$AP Rocky Says Fatherhood “Changed My Swag” In Interview About Parenting With Rihanna
Fatherhood has completely transformed A$AP Rocky’s life, and he’s embracing every moment of it. In an interview with W Magazine, the rapper, 35, opened up about how parenthood has changed his perspective and brought out his playful, proud dad side. Rocky shares two young sons, RZA, 2, and Riot Rose, 14 months, with his partner, global superstar Rihanna, 36.
“That s— changed my swag,” Rocky admitted with a laugh, reflecting on his life as a father. “I’m such a dad, it’s f—ing hilarious,” he added.
He went on to talk about how his daily routine has shifted dramatically since having kids. “I haven’t been in the gym in weeks,” he confessed. “I come home, my kids are already in bed, asleep. I leave, they’re [sic] still asleep. But the sacrifices we make to put out something substantial…”
Rocky also opened up about the natural way fatherhood takes over your life. “Once you’re a parent, you just embody that, no matter what,” he explained. Despite the challenges of balancing his career and being a dad, Rocky is more than proud of the role he plays in his family.
When it comes to parenting, he and Rihanna work as a team, each bringing their own strengths to the table. “I think we both have our niches, our things that we do that we’re good at,” Rocky shared.
“She could never be a great dad, because she’s a great mom. And I could never be a great mom, because I’m the greatest dad in the whole wide world,” he added with a smile.
Rocky also spoke about his two sons’ personalities and how they resemble their parents in different ways. “I think RZA is going to keep to himself. He’s an introvert,”Rocky revealed, as he added, “Riot’s an extrovert — he’s just like his mom.”
Even though RZA takes after his dad, Rocky joked that he got his mom’s signature feature. “He got his mom’s forehead. I love my boy’s big forehead! I loved it on his mother,” he stated.
But one thing Rocky loves most is the bond forming between his boys. “Riot looks up to RZA. I think RZA’s warming up to Riot,” he shared. Watching his kids grow together is just one of the many joys he’s found as a father.
