Brad Pitt Was Likened To A Petulant Child For Looting The French Vineyard He Owns With His Ex-Wife Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt has recently been accused of behaving like a grumpy little boy who looted the French vineyard that he owns with Angelina Jolie, his ex-wife. This is according to the lawyers in the most current legal filing and is a continuation of the ex-couple’s real-life legal courthouse drama.
In 2008, Brad and his then-wife, Angelina, purchased a vineyard in Provence, South of France, for $28 million. They called the property Château Miraval and have equal shares of the actual property and the revenue it generates from its wine-making business.
But recently, Brad was accused by Nouvel, Angelina’s previous investment company, of spending millions on particular projects—all vanity and unnecessary projects like renovating the property’s swimming pool and creating a recording studio.
Recall that in 2021, Angelina shared her fifty percent stake in the property with a Russian oligarch, Yuri Shefler, and after the purchase was completed, Brad’s unwarranted spending worsened.
Financial Times was able to catch a glimpse of the lawsuit, and it was indicated there that Brad, aside from acting like a child, was also involved in a blatant money grab scheme. This made Angelina’s lawyer slam the actor for calling himself a winemaker when he was merely dealing in empty illusions and no grapes.
In a legal document, Nouvel also stated that Brad “engaged in increasingly outrageous actions to retain control of the winery and that he is allegedly stripping [the rosé producer] of its assets.”
According to the Financial Times, the rosé brand was one of the more successful ventures of the ex-power couple, which they co-established with Marc Perrin, a winemaker. In 2022, it earned a profit of more than $16 million.
But since the couple’s divorce in 2016, it was claimed that Brad had instigated a plan that seems to be working his way toward taking hold of de facto control of Château Miraval.
More information based on the court filing indicated, “During the years that he allegedly ‘built’ the business, he filmed and appeared in dozens of movies, not to mention making countless promotional appearances, jetting-setting [sic] around the world for movie premieres, and attending Hollywood parties.
While he no doubt visited the vineyards to admire the work of the French laborers who made the business successful, Pitt is no vigneron.”
Brad and Angelina’s fight over the vineyard is one of the latest strings from their relentless battle since their ugly, bitter, and controversial divorce in 2016. And to make matters worse, people close to the couple have firsthand information about how they are while staying in Provence.
Intimate knowledge from their real estate brokers, winemakers, and even their previous head of security came out.
Reports said that in 2021, Brad and Angelina agreed that the Troy actor would purchase the actress’s share of the business. However, the amicable deal was stalled because of the non-disclosure agreement that Brad tried to insert.
