Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos Open Up About First Home And Buyer’s Remorse
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recently shared their experience of buying their first home and the mixed feelings that came with it. The beloved couple and co-hosts of LIVE with Kelly and Mark revealed their story on a recent episode, providing a candid look at the challenges they faced.
Mark, 53, described the immediate regret they felt after their offer was accepted. “Every time you get your offer accepted on a house, you’re like, ooh. Buyer’s remorse,” he said, reflecting on the anxiety of the big purchase.
Kelly, also 53, recalled the stress they felt during the closing process. “I remember when we bought our first home, and we immediately regretted it. I remember when we went in to sign all of the deeds and whatever we were signing at the closing, the real estate broker said, ‘I can tell you’re new homeowners,'” she stated.
The couple, who first met in 1995 during the audition process for All My Children, quickly fell in love. Consuelos was cast as Ripa’s love interest on the soap opera, and they eloped in Las Vegas in 1996 after less than a year of dating. They now have three children together: 26-year-old Michael, 22-year-old Lola, and 21-year-old Joaquin.
Though this is the first time Kelly and Mark have opened up about their home-buying process, they often share glimpses of their current home on social media. Just last month, Kelly gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek of their luxurious bedroom in their New York City home. The room features a massive bed with seating at the foot, lush gray carpeting, a textured feature wall, and an impressive chandelier hanging over the bed.
In 2023, Kelly shared another angle of their bedroom, showcasing Mark lounging on their bed. The space included a neutral headboard, a beige settee, and a playful throw pillow that read “I want to be where the people aren’t,” a nod to Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
Earlier this April, the couple celebrated the arrival of spring with a rooftop dinner, sharing views of the city skyline and a glimpse of their meal on Instagram.
“First rooftop dinner of spring with @instasuelos,” Kelly wrote, capturing Mark gesturing to the food with a smile.
