Martin Lawrence Shares Update On Friend Jamie Foxx: ‘He’s Doing Better’ While Accepting Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame
On April 12, Corinne Foxx announced that her father, Jamie Foxx, had a mysterious medical scare.
In her Instagram post, Corinne shared, “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
She also shared that they realized Jamie was very beloved and that they appreciated fans’ prayers. She also asked for privacy during the time.
The 55-year-old Oscar-winning star was hospitalized in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was shooting for his newest Netflix movie, Back in Action.
Concerning his health scare, his friend and fellow comedian Martin Lawrence shared an update with Extra in an exclusive interview.
He said, “Well, I hear he’s doing better… My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood. Not only one of the best entertainers, but a good person.”
This interview was taken when the comedian was attending his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. Reflecting on the honor, Lawrence talked about Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy being his inspiration. He talked about being honored, blessed, and thankful to God for the honor.
Lawrence was joined by Steve Harvey, Tracy Morgan, Tichina Arnold, and Lynn Whitfield and daughters Amara, Iyanna, and Jasmine.
Ever since the news of Jamie Foxx’s health scare broke, fans have been very concerned. He also received wishes from co-stars and friends.
Among them was Kerry Washington, his Ray and Django Unchained co-star. In her April 13 Instagram post, the actress wrote, “A @iamjamiefoxx appreciation post. Sending you all the love and prayers my movie huzbin.”
LeBron James tweeted that he was sending his thoughts and prayers to the heavens above for his brother. Addressing Foxx, he further asked him to get well and get back to himself sooner rather than later.
Foxx’s “The Jamie Foxx Show” co-star Garcelle Beauvais wrote a tribute post on Instagram for the actor. Her post said that she was writing an appreciation post for her friend Jamie Foxx. She further wrote to Jamie saying that she loves him very much and needed him to get better soon.
Posting a photo with Foxx, Viola captioned it, “We need you…. your light, your brilliance. ❤”
But what happened to Jamie Foxx?
What Foxx is suffering from or what his symptoms are is still unknown. He was in Atlanta shooting for his newest film when the incident occurred. Jamie was rushed to the hospital and is still hospitalized. However, he is allegedly recovering, feeling better, and “feels the love from everyone”.
However, the next day after the incident, shooting for the movie resumed. On Tuesday, Cameron Diaz was pictured filming a scene in Atlanta, Georgia, with a Jamie Foxx substitute.
