Zendaya Celebrates Final Year Of Her Twenties With Childhood Photo

Zendaya is closing one chapter and stepping into her final year of her twenties. The Emmy-winning Euphoria star, who turned 29 on September 1, marked the milestone with a sweet Instagram throwback.
The photo shows a young Zendaya with curly hair and a wide smile, perched on a carousel pony. “Just coming on here to say how grateful I am for another year of life and for all of you for making it so beautiful,” she wrote to her 177 million followers.
She added, “Thank you so so much for all of the love and warm wishes….as always, here’s to (the official last year of my twenties, literally [what the hell]).”
Friends and fans filled the comments with love, including Jason Momoa and Dove Cameron, who joined the chorus of birthday wishes. Zendaya’s post follows a tradition she began last year, when she also celebrated her birthday with a childhood throwback photo.
In addition to celebrating a birthday, the actress is also gearing up for a massive year. She’ll be back as Rue Bennett in the third season of HBO’s Euphoria, while also stepping into two blockbuster projects alongside fiancé Tom Holland. The pair star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set for release May 1, 2026, and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, hitting theaters July 17, 2026.
Zendaya and Tom, both 29, confirmed their engagement in January after she debuted a sparkling diamond ring at the Golden Globes. But don’t expect wedding bells just yet. “The process hasn’t even started yet,” her longtime stylist Law Roach told E! News in July, noting that her filming schedule is packed with projects like the next installment of Dune. “…We have time. We have a lot of time,” he said.
The couple was last seen together on August 8, cozying up on the set of Brand New Day. While their wedding timeline remains under wraps, their on- and off-screen partnership shows no signs of slowing down.
