Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson Jackson are proving that Hollywood love stories can last. The couple just hit an incredible milestone, 45 years of marriage, and marked the occasion with a romantic getaway on the French Riviera.
On August 18, the pair shared a sun-soaked photo from a boat ride in Cannes, smiling together with the caption, “Celebrating 45 Years of Love in Cannes!! ♥️💍 We have followed God’s path together and have received Blessings overflowing.”
Samuel, 76, sported a printed denim shirt-and-shorts combo with a crisp white sunhat, while LaTanya, 75, stunned in an elegant off-the-shoulder black dress.
The celebrations didn’t stop there. A day earlier, the Jacksons posted a reel filled with photos spanning their decades together, captioned “45 Years of Everlasting Love!!! ♥️💍.” Their love story began in Atlanta when they were both college students performing in a theater group. By 1980, they were married, setting off on a journey that has taken them from small stages to world premieres, from raising their daughter Zoe, now 43, to traveling the globe on luxury yachts.
Sailing, in fact, has become a favorite tradition. Just last year, Samuel and LaTanya toured Greece, Italy, and France on a superyacht with Magic Johnson, Judge Greg Mathis, and their wives. Michael Jordan and his wife Yvette Prieto even joined the group for dinner during a stop in Capri.
This latest celebration also comes on the heels of LaTanya’s own career triumph. Earlier this summer, she earned a Tony nomination for her powerful performance in Purpose. Spike Lee threw a star-studded party in her honor, with Angela Bassett and Deborah Roberts among the guests. At the party, Samuel took the moment to reflect on her artistry and also on the marriage that has grounded him for nearly half a century. Per Page Six, he had spoken about how she helps make him better. LaTanya had reportedly jokingly butted in to say, “See, he had to make it about him!”
