Drew Barrymore Is Interested In Another Movie With Adam Sandler

While it seems like the romantic comedy duo of Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler will not be seen anymore, they might be returning to the screen. In an interview with PEOPLE, Drew shared that she is open to more movie opportunities, especially if she will be doing it with Adam, her co-star in 1998’s The Wedding Singer, 2004’s 50 First Dates, and 2014’s Blended.

Even though the actress paused her acting career and is happily hosting the third season of her talk show, The Drew Barrymore show, she revealed that she might come back in the near future if Adam is involved.

“As soon as you talk about Adam Sandler, I’m like, ‘Oh well, maybe. Sure,’” she said.

According to Drew, Blended was filmed in Africa, and that was when her daughter Olive was eight months old. Reliving the experience, she said she was able to cope with having such a young child in a movie location because of Adam. “I was terrified to bring an eight-month-old, I was overwhelmed,” she stated, adding, “But I did it because I feel so safe with Adam. That was the only person on the planet who could have gotten me to go do a film [at that time]. He’s a family man.”

Her husband at the time, Will Kopelman, went on the trip with her, she further shared, revealing that she conceived her second daughter Frankie on that film which remains of sentimental value to her.

Aside from the opportunity to star alongside Adam, Barrymore would also return to the movie set of Charlie’s Angels 3, an idea actress and writer Mindy Kaling recently hinted at on Drew’s show.

“Those are interesting challenges because they have been established. That really is building upon something. There’s so much history there that they don’t feel like [the work of] making films. It’s like, ‘Do you want to spend your life doing that? With those people?’ Yes. I would show up. I really would,” she responded when asked about her interest in a third installment in the Charlie’s Angels film series.Back in 2019, the actress shared that Adam stands out among all the actors she has starred alongside in films and television shows. According to her, her relationship with the 52-year-old goes beyond movie sets. “We just talked on the phone the other day. We talk on the phone often, and we were like, it feels like something, I don’t know,” she told PEOPLE.
