Drew Barrymore Is To Work On Another Project With Adam Sandler Soon
Without Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, romantic comedies probably won’t be as popular and adored by all the hopeless romantics and those who enjoy watching feel-good movies.
Fans can gear up to enjoy the chemistry of this duo, once again, in a possible project featuring the two. Yes, an Adam-Drew movie can be refreshing at this point and a treat for many 90s folks.
During one of Drew’s interviews with People Magazine, the 47-year-old actress candidly shared her thoughts on the possibility of starring in another movie with Adam. Recall that the two already worked together in The Wedding Singer, 1998, 50 First Dates, 2004, and Blended, 2014.
The mother of two shared that when Adam Sandler’s name was brought up, she quickly went from “not sure” to “yes, definitely!”
The Charlie’s Angels alum took a break from her acting career in 2020. Shen then focused on her talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, which is already in its third season.
The show, which highlights relatable human stories and lifestyles, is aired on the CBS network, with the episodes shot in New York City.
Drew mentioned that developing the show entailed her learning and growing, not just professionally but also personally. And it was challenging to open herself to that growth.
Drew realized that she was not playing a character when hosting the show but was being herself.
The ET actress further explained that her current work allowed her to be more present in raising her daughters—10-year-old Olive and 8-year-old Frankie.
With movies, she needs to invest at least two years to make something happen, and there’s the possibility of that two years’ worth of work disappearing overnight.
Doing her show, according to the actress, is different. There’s just no farewell and no feeling that she won’t be doing it again or that she’ll never go back on set. But Drew admitted that there are projects that entice her to make a movie comeback, and one of these is the possibility of working with 56-year-old Adam Sandler.
This will be the fourth collaboration between these two talented actors, with their last movie being Blended, which was shot in 2014 when Drew’s firstborn was just eight months old.
Looking back at the experience, Drew admitted that she had been terrified to bring her child to Africa. She mentioned everything was somewhat overwhelming, and Adam’s presence made everything bearable. The new mother said she felt safe with Adam at their location.
Drew further explained that Adam was the only person on the planet who could have made her do and finish the film. She described her co-actor as a family man.
Aside from the prospect of another movie with Adam, Drew also opened up that she’s open to doing another Charlie’s Angel movie—an idea brought up by Mindy Kaling during her show.
The Scream alum stated she had too much history with Charlie’s Angel and the people she worked with. And she questioned herself about whether she wanted to spend her life doing that and being with the rest of the cast.
With wisdom, Drew shared that she wouldn’t say no to Charlie’s Angels 3 because that was a life experience, and the time spent with the people in the film was not work but a gift.
