Joseph Quinn Teases Potential Return To “Stranger Things” And Prepares For Marvel Debut
Joseph Quinn, the 30-year-old English actor who skyrocketed to fame as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things, has hinted at a possible return to the beloved Netflix series. Despite his character’s apparent demise in the fourth season, Eddie’s secret friendship with Chrissy Cunningham turned him into a fan favorite.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Joseph expressed his enthusiasm about reuniting with the Stranger Things cast. “Chances are high,” he said, adding, “I love those guys! I’d love to say hello.”
He praised the show as it approaches its final season, saying, “I’m sure they’re working very hard to land the plane. It’s been a long time that they’ve been working on that, so I’m really delighted that they’re kind of getting towards the end, and they’re having a nice time.”
“I’m sure they’re gonna deliver it in a pretty epic way. I have no doubts,” he said further.
Joseph hinted at Eddie’s possible return, saying, “I might have that feeling too,” but quickly backtracked, adding, “Or maybe I don’t. I don’t know. Who knows?”
Besides his potential return to Stranger Things, Joseph has a busy schedule. He stars in A Quiet Place: Day One alongside Lupita Nyong’o and is set to play Johnny Storm in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie The Fantastic Four.
Reflecting on this iconic role, previously portrayed by Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan, Joseph acknowledged the challenge ahead. “They’re both brilliant actors and did an amazing job with their interpretation of Johnny,” he told PEOPLE.
“So I think it’s a question of trying to find something… well, not different. It’s going to come from me, I guess,” he added.
Joseph added that he has been inspired by their portrayals, aiming to bring his unique touch to the character.
The final season of Stranger Things, which first premiered in 2016, is currently in production. Although Netflix has not announced an official release date, the creators have assured fans that the wait will be shorter than the three-year gap between seasons 3 and 4. However, the timeline has likely shifted due to the actors and writers strikes last year.
