Kim Kardashian Joins American Horror Story Cast, Fans React
Kim Kardashian’s recent announcement that she would be joining the cast of American Horror Story season 12 has left many die-hard fans unhappy, with some even threatening to boycott the show. The reality star made the announcement on her Instagram page on Monday morning, via a teaser trailer which was also posted on the official American Horror Story Instagram page.
While some fans were excited to see what Kardashian could bring to the show, others expressed their disappointment and frustration with her casting, taking to social media to voice their displeasure. Some threatened to skip the season entirely to avoid watching Kim, calling the announcement a “real horror story.”
“’Kim Kardashian starring? Wtf did I just read? That’s the most horrifying part of the entire AHS franchise,” a user said.
Despite the backlash, American Horror Story has a long history of casting celebrities, including Lady Gaga, Naomi Campbell, Steve Nicks, and Adam Levine, to name a few. Some fans defended Kim, saying they were willing to give her a chance, as they were pleasantly surprised with Lady Gaga’s acting in the series.
“I ’ll give it a shot to see what Kim can do. I was pleasantly surprised with Lady Gaga in Hotel, so we’ll see. Glad to have Emma back!” a user stated.
Details of Kim’s role in the upcoming season were revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, which stated that she would be playing a woman who is convinced someone sinister is making sure her pregnancy doesn’t happen. The season will be written by Halley Feiffer, who will also serve as the showrunner.
In a statement, AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy said that Kim is “among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world,” and that he and Emma Roberts are excited to collaborate with her on this season. Murphy added that Feiffer had written a “fun, stylish, and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim,” and that the season was “ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
Emma Roberts, who has previously starred in American Horror Story, also liked Kim’s post announcing the news.
Kim is no stranger to the entertainment industry, having appeared in various films, television shows, and music videos over the years. She has also tried her hand at the music industry with her song Jam (Turn it Up) in 2012. Additionally, Kim runs the successful lingerie, shapewear, loungewear, and sleepwear brand SKIMS, which she founded in 2019.
Despite the backlash from some fans, it remains to be seen how Kim’s performance in American Horror Story season 12 will be received.
