Ne-Yo Responds After Wife Accuses Him Of Cheating For 8 Years
Crystal Renay Smith, Ne-Yo’s wife, has accused him of cheating on her for the entirety of their 8-year long relationship. She revealed all about his ‘deception’ by sharing a screenshot of a note written in her Notes App on her public Instagram.
The 35-year-old has three children with the singer-songwriter, and they have been married for six years. The heartbreaking and honest note comes after the two only recently renewed their wedding vows in a beautiful ceremony.
Crystal’s note reads:
“8 years of lies and deception. 8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous of women who sell their bodies to him unprotected…every last one of them! To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is an understatement. To ask me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane. The mentality of a narcissist. I will no longer lie to the public or pretend that this is something it isn’t. I choose me, I choose my happiness and health and my respect. I gained 3 beautiful children out of this but nothing else but wasted years and heartache. I ask that you all please stop sending me videos or information of him cheating because what he does is no longer my concern. I am not a victim. I’m choosing to stand tall with my head held high. If someone can’t love you the way you deserve then it’s up to you to love yourself. With no hate in my heart I wish him nothing but the best.”
It’s safe to say that it must have taken a lot of courage to open up about issues as personal as adultery. Ne-Yo’s response to this scathing note accusing him of cheating was to ‘like’ her Instagram post.
Later, he made a tweet about the accusation. It read, “For the sake of our children, my family and I will work through our challenges behind closed doors. Personal matters are not meant to be addressed and dissected in public forums. I simply ask that you please respect me and my family’s privacy at this time.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of relationship troubles for the couple. They faced marital issues and even considered divorce in 2020. “We realize that our demons don’t mesh and until both of us get a hold of our personal demons, it’s gonna be just difficult for us to stay married,” Ne-Yo confesses on the Private Talk With Alexis podcast.
The couple seemed to have really ‘uncomfortable conversations’ during the pandemic, but they decided to rekindle their flame in early 2022. Alas, it seems like this final confession by Crystal seems to be the last nail in the coffin for their marriage.
Ne-Yo is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, and record producer who rose to fame via his self-written RnB hit “Let Me Love You” in 2004. His recent song “Don’t Love Me” revolves around the perils of his relationship with Crystal during the COVID-19 pandemic.
