Kevin Costner’s Soon-To-Be Ex-Wife Christine Asking For Monthly Child Support Amounting To $248,000
In the latest course of events in Kevin Costner’s now publicized divorce, his estranged wife Christine revealed her demand for $250,000 per month in child support.
According to Christine, the money is intended for the couple’s children and for the three kids to maintain their lifestyle, given that their way of life is what they’ve been accustomed to.
According to the report in People Magazine, 49-year-old Christine Baumgartner mentioned that the amount she is requesting is less than the money needed to support her children’s lifestyle.
Kevin and Christine share three children, 16-year-old Cayden, 14-year-old Hayes, and 13-year-old Grace. Kevin has four other children from his previous marriage, who are now all adults. Aside from the monthly child support, Kevin, as indicated in the court filing, is also mandated to pay for the three children’s schooling, healthcare, and healthcare and extracurricular activities.
As per the documents presented, the 68-year-old action star apparently earned $19.5 million last year, with the entire family’s expenses clocking in at $6.6 million in 2022. According to the People report, Kevin and his family have a net worth of $7.5 million.
Some expenses they incurred last year were trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Aspen, where Kevin has a property.
Recall that Arnold Robinson, Kevin’s publicist, issued a statement sometime in May stating, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage.”
Kevin and Christine started dating in 1998, and after six years, they tied the knot at Kevin’s Colorado ranch.
It was recently reported that Kevin had already asked Christine to gather her belongings and leave his mansion, as stated in their prenup agreement.
Unfortunately, Christine refused to do so. Kevin wants her out of his property and wants her out before he returns home from filming his film. The Yellowstone actor appealed, “I will finish shooting the film in Utah on June 24, 2023, and will be home either on June 25 or June 26 to begin the editing process.”
The couple’s next hearing is scheduled for July 5, and by that time, Kevin hopes that Christine will have vacated his property. He highlighted that Christine is aware of what she needs to do because, again, as stipulated in their prenuptial agreement, if the relationship were to end in divorce, Christine would have to be the one to leave the actor’s property while Kevin provided her $1.2 million to help her look for a new home.
Kevin, who has an estimated worth of $250 million, proclaimed that he and his legal team had given Christine multiple offers just for her to move out of their marital home but can’t still reach an agreement. This ultimately leaves him without a home since he is not able to live in his own house.
Meanwhile, Christine mentioned that, above everything else, her former spouse should be thinking of their children, which is more important than whatever is stated in the paper. She added that Kevin has multiple properties he can use as his primary base.
