Pink’s Cancels Concert for the 4th Time Due to Health and Family
In one week, Pink cancelled her concert for the fourth time leaving many fans disappointed and wondering how the singer was doing. Her latest concert in Canada was postponed due to a respiratory infection.
The 44-year-old pop star wrote on her social media last Thursday, “I am deeply sorry to share that I have a respiratory infection, and my doctor has advised that I am unable to perform at the Vancouver shows on Friday and Saturday.”
She went on to assure her 10.3 million Instagram followers that “‘Live Nation is working on new dates to reschedule the shows. I am very much looking forward to performing in Vancouver and putting on an incredible show for everyone. In the meantime, I wish everyone good health and am sending lots of love.”
Born Alecia Moore, Pink has had asthma since she was a child. Her condition flared up when she tested positive for COVID-19 in March 2020, the start of the global pandemic.
You might remember that the three-time Grammy winner shared in The Ellen DeGeneres Show that having asthma and testing coronavirus-positive was one of the scariest things she had to go through in her life. She recalls not being able to breathe and needing her nebulizer once more after 30 years. Pink also made sure she had her rescue inhaler on hand function.
During a radio interview, she said, “It was really, really bad, and I rewrote my will… As a parent, you think, ‘What am I leaving for my kid? What am I teaching them? Are they going to make it in this world? And what do I need to tell them if this is the last time I get to tell them anything?”
The postponement of her Vancouver concert came just three days after the artist called off two of her other shows that were supposed to be held in Tacoma, WA, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
For the Tacoma concerts, the Pennsylvania-born singer shared that she had family medical issues that required immediate attention. She also conveyed her apologies for the inconvenience that the postponement caused her fans.
Until now, it is unknown which family member got sick or had a medical emergency. Pink’s immediate family is her husband of 17 years, Carey Hart, and their two children, 12-year-old Willow Sage and 6-year-old Jameson.
Pink and her 48-year-old retired motocross racer husband separated in 2003 and in 2008. They admitted that they are still together thanks to their marriage counselor Vanessa Inn.
Unfortunately, this series of canceled concerts isn’t new since Pink’s supposed September 29th concert at Arlington, Texas’ Globe Life Field was rescheduled to November 26 after the singer came down with a serious sinus infection.
Then there’s also a scheduling issue because Pink double-booked with two different tours. She is slated for the 65-date Summer Carnival and 21-date Trustfall Tour.
Pink is known to have had challenges with her health. In 2020, she underwent a double disc replacement and hip surgery.
Fans of the “Lady Marmalade” hitmaker are anticipating the continuation of her concerts so they can experience and enjoy the artist’s three-octave mezzo-soprano power. They are chiefly interested in hearing her perform her newest single, “Dreaming,” an impressive collaboration with Grammy nominee Marshmello and 17-time Grammy winner Sting.
