Acting Opportunities Landed On Paris And Dylan Brosnan While Visiting Dad Pierce’s Movie Set
For Paris and Dylan Brosnan, what started as a casual father-son hangout turned into a full-on Hollywood moment. The two sons of James Bond legend Pierce Brosnan recently found themselves stepping in front of the camera for their first-ever movie roles — right alongside their famous dad. The film? A gritty Western called The Unholy Trinity, now playing in theaters.
Pierce, 72, invited 28-year-old Dylan and 24-year-old Paris to spend a few weeks with him on the film’s set. What he didn’t expect was that director Richard Gray would be so impressed by the boys that he’d offer them parts in the movie.
“He invited us out to come and hang out with him, and it was gonna be a great father and son trip, and we’re gonna get to spend some quality time together and see a new place and be on set, which are fond memories for us,” Paris shared. “I remember being on lots of sets with Dad and Dylan, which is always a good time.”
Paris further went: “It kind of naturally and organically came about that we would be able to participate in the movie. There were some little openings for us to get in there and dip our toes in the water.”
Paris plays the son of one of the rival townsmen, while Dylan steps into the shoes of a pastor. Pierce stars as Gabriel, a no-nonsense sheriff navigating chaos in 1870s Montana. The cast also features Samuel L. Jackson as a charming but dangerous treasure-hunter.
Despite their first-time status, both Dylan and Paris handled their roles with confidence and without much coaching from their dad.
“I gave very little advice, and they asked for very little advice,” Pierce admitted during a conversation with PEOPLE.
“I think both men knew instinctively what to do,” he added, “and Richard Gray is such a delightful fellow as the director, and he was so enthusiastic, and it’s a very important film for him. ‘Show up on time, know your line , know your lines, and be brilliant. Be relaxed and have fun and go play.’”
Pierce, who shares Paris and Dylan with wife Keely Shaye, said it was nothing short of magical to work on the same film as his sons. “It’s the most magical gift to have. We just had a great time,” he said.
The Brosnan boys aren’t strangers to the film world. Dylan has previously worked behind the scenes on documentaries, while Paris is already filming another project, Overhill Manor. But this experience made them consider a future in front of the camera more seriously.
“I do love acting and I would like to keep pursuing a career in it,” Paris said, while Dylan said, “It was just really nice to go spend time with Dad and Paris and be a part of that.”
Pierce also has three other children from his first marriage to the late actress Cassandra Harris — Christopher, Sean, and Charlotte, who passed away in 2013.
