Arnold Schwarzenegger Doesn’t Believe In Heaven And Will Never Be Comfortable With Death
Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed in an emotional interview that he does not believe in heaven and will always be uncomfortable with death.
The 75-year-old actor, best known for The Terminator movie, has previously revealed that he has tailored workouts to stay alive. Based on his interview with Interview Magazine, Arnold believes he won’t see his loved ones again after death. When it comes to heaven, the concept he believes in is keeping the person who has passed away in one’s memory.
Arnold shared during the interview that Howard Stern had once asked him, “Tell me, governor, what happens to us when we die.” To this, he’d answered, “Nothing. You’re six feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f*****g liar.”
The actor-turned-politician further explained, “We don’t know what happens with the soul and all this spiritual stuff that I’m not an expert in, but I know that the body as we see each other now, we will never see each other again like that. Except in some fantasy.”
Further, Arnold shared that when people talk about seeing each other again in heaven, that sounds good—too good to be true. To him, the reality is, departed loved ones are forever gone, and the idea of seeing each other again is far-fetched. He feels this is one of the saddest things about life and death.
He acknowledged that some people are comfortable with death—the idea and concept of passing—but he is not. It is something that he won’t ever be comfortable with. The iconic action star revealed that saying goodbye to 15 friends from his bodybuilding days significantly altered his perception of the afterlife. The 15 deaths in 20 years shifted his take on death.
The former governor of California said, “To me, heaven is where I put a person who I love dearly, who is kind, who is generous, who made a difference in my life and other people’s lives. I keep them in a spot in my head, like that front row that you have of all of your friends. And you always have a good feeling when you think of them.”
During another interview with Men’s Health, Arnold also shared the gruesome workout routine that he strictly follows. The star, who was once the titleholder of Mr. Olympia, still has that chiseled physique. Having had several knee and heart surgeries, his workout regimen at Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach aims to protect and keep him alive.
Arnold’s primary motivation when training is to protect his body while doing his therapy training. He wants to stay young with lighter but suitable exercises and usually does 25 to 30 sets in the gym in 30 minutes.
The Commando actor shared how his routine includes five sets of machine preacher curls, five sets of machine dips, and five sets of overhead presses and how he ends each of these sets with a 5-second iso-hold squeeze.
