Jana Kramer Takes Down Video Of Daughter After Fan Concerns
Jana Kramer recently opened up about why she took down a video of her 8-year-old daughter Jolie dancing at home. Jana explained that while she loves sharing moments of her family life, sometimes she has to be extra cautious.
The 40-year-old star shared screenshots on Instagram and explained what led to the decision. Initially, she didn’t think much of Jolie wearing a sports bra in the video. After all, it was filmed at home, and Jana figured it wasn’t different from her daughter wearing a bathing suit. However, after receiving some feedback from followers and having conversations in her DMs, she realized how sensitive the situation could be.
“Jolie asked to see [the] original this morning and I told her I took it down after some convos. She was sad, I explained why, and I said we can redo…and she said yay!” Jana explained.
Jana assured Jolie that they could redo the video, to which her daughter happily agreed.
The country singer and mom of three admitted that she didn’t notice the problem at first, but after thinking it through, she recognized how sexualized children can be in today’s world. “I’m being honest, I didn’t even see the issue at first with the original…I forget how sick this world is and how sexualized kids are,” she said.
Jana shares Jolie and her 5-year-old son, Jace, with her ex-husband Mike Caussin. She also has a 10-month-old son, Roman, with her current husband, Allan Russell. As a mother, she often deals with the pressures of social media, especially when it comes to her kids. On a recent episode of her podcast, Whine Down with Jana Kramer, she shared another funny conversation with Jolie. Jolie asked her mom if it was okay not to like Taylor Swift, which caught Jana by surprise.
Jana recalled telling her daughter, “Honey, 1000%, you can like whoever you want.’ I was like, ‘It’s just because she’s super famous, you know, and everyone loves her does not mean that you have to love her too.” She even shared how she once felt the same way about The Beatles, going against the popular opinion just because.
Jana’s parenting moments highlight the balance she tries to strike between sharing her life with fans and protecting her kids from the negative side of the internet. It’s not always easy, but she is committed to learning as she goes.
