Jennifer Lawrence Is Expecting Baby No. 2!
Jennifer Lawrence and her family are getting ready for a new addition! The 34-year-old No Hard Feelings actress and her husband, art dealer Cooke Maroney, 40, have announced they are expecting their second child. The exciting news came via a Vogue Instagram post on October 20, where the couple’s representatives confirmed the happy update.
As Vogue captioned on Instagram, “Congratulations are in order for Jennifer Lawrence! The Oscar-winning actor will be welcoming her second child with art gallerist husband Cooke Maroney.”
Jennifer and Cooke, who tied the knot in October 2019, are already proud parents to their 2-year-old son, Cy, whom they welcomed in February 2022. Now, their little family is growing again, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled!
Jennifer has always been open about how motherhood has shaped her, especially when it comes to balancing her career and her personal life. In a June 2023 interview with Interview Magazine, she sat down with actress Cameron Diaz and shared some of her thoughts on being a parent in the public eye.
“I was so nervous when I was pregnant. I was getting paparazzi’d, and I was just like, ‘How the f— am I not going to lose it on these guys when they’re taking a picture of my baby?’ Then once he was here, I realized that my energy is more important to him than anything else,” she recalled.
She explained that if she left the house feeling stressed or anxious, her son would pick up on those feelings, which made her shift her approach to being photographed.
“So it’s actually done the opposite, where I’ve gotten a little bit more zen and a little bit more relaxed with getting photographed because I don’t have a choice. You just have to accept it, take a deep breath and walk. I don’t want him to inherit the anxiety and anger that I have,” she added.
Learning to stay zen in stressful situations has been one of the biggest changes motherhood has brought into her life.
Jennifer also credits her husband Cooke for being a fantastic partner in parenting. In the same interview, she called him “the greatest father in the entire world.” She went on to explain that his support helps ease the usual guilt that comes with juggling work and family. “So when I’m working, I don’t have any more guilt than the usual every day, all-day parent guilt,” she said.
Since welcoming her son, Jennifer has become more selective with the projects she chooses to work on. “There’s no squeezing when you have a baby. It definitely helps weed out projects: ‘Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No. Is this worth being away from my child for half the day?’” she told Interview Magazine.
